A lot of people might answer, "John F. Kennedy was the youngest US President." Those people would be wrong. John F. Kennedy was one of the youngest Presidents, but Theodore Roosevelt was actually younger than John F. Kennedy. Teddy Roosevelt was 42 years old when he was elected, while John F. Kennedy was 43 years old. This makes TR the youngest President to take office.
Bill Clinton was also one of the youngest Presidents. He was 46 years old when he was elected. Ulysses Grant was also 46 years old, and Barack Obama was 47 years old.
Most Presidents have been elected when they were in their 50's.
Who Was the Oldest President?
Ronald Reagan was the oldest President. He was 69 years old when he was elected, but he was only a few days away from his 70th birthday. William Henry Harrison was 68 years old when he was elected, and George H.W. Bush was 64 years old when he was elected.
Who Was the Shortest President?
James Madison, at 5'4", was the shortest US President. Martin Van Buren and Benjamin Harrison were both 5"6", so they're tied for the distinction of being the second shortest President.
Who Was the Tallest President?
We've had two presidents who were both 6"4" tall--Abraham Lincoln and Lyndon Johnson. Thomas Jefferson was 6'2 1/2", while the following Presidents were all 6'2":
